Enjoyable leisurely cycling in Franconia needn’t be confined to the cycle routes along the Main and Regnitz valleys: Bamberg, the Franconian Rome, was built on seven hills and is surrounded by the “medium mountains” of the Steigerwald forest, the Haßberge hills and the Fränkische Schweiz (Franconian Switzerland) region.
This tour takes in the same sights as the standard city bike tour, but includes a closer look at St. Michael’s monastery and additionally takes in the Kaulberg and Stephansberg. The seventh of the seven hills Bamberg is built on, the Altenburg, is too steep for us. We will end our excursion in Greifenklau brewery or the Spezial “cellar.” Ideal as a company outing or corporate incentive!
